Special Menu - Thursday 2nd October

Why School Dinners on Census Day Matter

On Thursday 2nd October the Accent team in the kitchen will be making a special lunch of Pizza and Brownie or shortbread and ice cream.

Did you know that your child having a school dinner on Census Day can help our academy  receive more funding?

Each term, the government collects data on how many pupils take up school meals, especially Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) for children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. This information is used to determine how much funding our school receives to support learning, resources, and enrichment activities.

So, if your child is eligible for a free school meal, having one on Census Day helps us secure the funding we need to continue offering high-quality education and support for all pupils.

Even if your child usually brings a packed lunch, we’d love for them to enjoy a school meal on Census Day—it really does make a difference!

We have a special menu on Thursday 2nd October – Fun at the Circus!

The menu includes familiar favourites with a fun twist, offering something a little different while still focusing on good nutrition and quality ingredients.

We can’t wait to see the children and staff enjoying this delicious menu!
