This week, we were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire to Discovery Primary Academy.

Having attended Walton Infant School and Walton Junior School and lived locally, it was a wonderful opportunity for him to return and see how the academy and local area have changed over the years.

During his visit, he spoke to our children about his life and how he became High Sheriff. Pupils enjoyed learning about the important responsibilities of the role, including supporting the justice system, visiting charities and community organisations and recognising the valuable work of people who serve others, such as our emergency services.

The children were particularly interested to learn that the High Sheriff is appointed by the King and represents His Majesty within Northamptonshire.

Thank you for taking the time to inspire our pupils and share your experiences with us. It was a memorable and informative visit for everyone involved.
