Year 3's Trip to Creswell Crags

On Tuesday 10th January, Year 3 travelled to Creswell Crags in Nottinghamshire to explore the archaeological parks and caves.

The weather was very cold but bright and sunny, so they had a wonderful time exploring Stone Age survival skills; hunting bison, making shelters and trying to make fire. They looked at fossils and skeletons in the museum and met Eric the complete skeleton of a baby hyena who had lived at Creswell Crags. They put on white gloves and handled the bones of a cave lion, wolf and hyena that had all previously lived at Creswell Crags. They put on hard hats with lights and carried torches and took a walk through the magnificent gorge to Robin Hood’s Cave; their deepest and biggest cave.
